32nd Day - 22 Dec 2006

I was on holiday today. Because its end of the year I just wanted to use the holidays I was left with this year and have taken them now. Tomorrow we are leaving to Dubai...(Fingers Crossed) it depends on the the mercy of Fog :-)

yesterday and today were little strange because I was feeling hungry yesterday and today I was getting little cravings on food....hmmmm....Something is wrong?
May be because I've started my AAM week. Today I cooked my 50g(I didn't know that 50gm is this less ) chicken and 2tblspoon of mushroom with little salt and spices. CD allows only spices and my generous mind allowed the salt :) After all my mouth needs something good to eat.

Yea...today my weigh in showed .1kg weight loss. It was okay because I was little worried that Im starting with AAM and might start putting on the weight with water retention. It din't happen...But tomorrow it might happen because I've added salt and it might lead to water retention.

Anyways, if the fog permits us I'll be holidaying till next year and back on blogging from Jan. If not I'll keep posting...

I'm so happy that I'm already working on one of my usual new year resolution and now I do not know what resolution I should take for 2007 because I'm always used to this weight loss resolution :)

29,30,31 days - 19,20 and 21st Dec 2006

I was not able to blog for the past three days because I'd been little busy with my daughter's b'day and preparation for holiday etc. We are leaving to Dubai on 23rd and looking the flight cancellation today, I'm little worried. So do not know whether to go ahead with our travel or cancel. Let's see.

20th was my daughter's B'day and we had a great time. Had a B'day dinner and did not get tempted. Now a days its kind of okay. Today is 21st and started with AAM (Add a Meal). Had 80g of Chicken and two tblspoon of mushroom. I'm really thrilled to see my weight tomorrow. May be I would have gained little because I'm adding meals now. I can't wait till tomorrow morning.

28th Day - 18th Dec 2006

Did shopping for my daughter's birthday which is on 20th of Dec. Because my workplace is very near to the Oxford street I was able to spend 2 hrs on the streets walking around. So felt little tired in the night. According to CD, after two week of SSing you can start doing simple excercises unless you don't overdo it and feel exhausted. I've currently not started with excercising because I am already doing lots of house hold work and walking a lot to work and at home etc. So My counsellor said because I am already working hard she adviced me not to do excercise. May be I'll start doing excercises when I feel comfortable.

27th Day - 17th Dec 2006

Hectic Sunday!!!

Had guests at home and lots of cleaning and stuff. I spoke to my parents, bro and sis in India and you know what!!! They all could make out that I've lost lots of weight and they said I look lot younger than what I used to. No need to mention how I am feeling.... My sis-in-law went one step more and said "I look like a Model". Not that I just believed all the words but still made me happy. After all you need some motivation and when people notice change and appreciate it, its definitely motivating..... Is it not?

25th and 26th Days - 15th and 16th Dec 2006

Friday was an average day at work. Average day at diet too. I think I'm getting used to this diet too much now.Good for me...

Saturday was little tough for me because I had a birthday party to attend. I already made up my mind that I'm not going to get tempted with the food and Guess what!!! it was really really easier than I thought. Never got tempted. Just had my coffee with my sweeteners and very little semi skimmed milk as usual (this is little cheating in the diet which I have been doing from the beginning ). Had lots of water because I was continuously talking friends and relatives. I had the side effects of drinking this much water in the night. Had to run to the loo from bed at least three times and I definitely hated it. That's the reason I'm here in front of the computer at 7:00am on a Sunday...Damn Water :(

24th Day 14th Dec 2006

Very hectic day at work which means a very normal day in diet. I have always seen this happening. Found my belt loose. Actually 2 weeks ago I made a new hole leaving 1 and half inch and again its loose. I have the experience of making holes only to make it loose earlier and these days its different... Its cool. One thing I hate in CD is the Orange bars. They are too citric.... :(
I finished all my left over Orange bars yesterday and am happy now.

22nd and 23rd Day - 12th and 13th Dec2006

I was busy on 12th because I had guests at home. Cooked some nice meals and never ate :)
13th was really easy because I was at client's place which takes me a long time to travel and I think when I'm really really busy I do not think about food.

I tried crisps with my Vegetable soup yeterday night. I won't say I like it though it turned out very good like crisps But it was different. I was getting bored with shakes and soups and bars and this was definitely a different one. It was salty though. Because the powder is for making soup it has salt needed for at least 300ml of water. But when I made it as crisps its salty..But I should do this every now and then.

Because I'm in my 4th week. I can start AAM(Add a Meal) from next tuesday. AAM is a phase for a week. Once you do CD for 4 weeks, you need to add a meal with your usual 3 CD packs for a week that's on the 5ht week. When I say mean do NOT think that its typical meal, but its going to be something like the following:

  • 3oz (80g) portion of white fish
  • 2oz (50g) poultry meat (without skin or fat)
  • 3oz (80g) quorn or tofu
  • 4oz (100g) cottage cheese (reduced fat)
  • 2tbsp 'white or green' vegetables (cooked or raw) such as spring greens, cauliflower, lettuce, mushrooms, cabbage, marrow, broccoli, celery, cress, courgettes or cucumber
This is what the CD site says. But still I think I'm going to enjoy this and still I can loose weight but not as much as when I was eating only the CD packs (its called Sole sourcing (SS)). But its okay

21st Day

Normal day without much cravings. But in the evening I was getting irritated so much without any reason. It has kind of become my routine now :(

Today is my 21st day and I made a very bad Strawberry shake today with lots of lumps. This is the first time I was trying the shake hot reading all threads at minimins.com about good the shakes when they are hot. But it looks like I'm not a Hot Gal...ohhhh I'm sorry hot shake loving gal... I'll definitely become one at least after I finish my diet *lol*. It was very bad may be because it was full of lumps....Better luck next time to me....

19th And 20th Day

This weekend I had different kind of problem. Because I was going to have guests at home on Monday I was cleaning up the whole house (Not that I don't clean otherwise :) ), and in Saturday night I was feeling very very dizzy God!!! I have never seen anything like that. Even Sunday morning I was not getting better when I got up. Then after a while I was feeling okay and had lots of other stuffs to do. Again Sunday night, I was feeling the same way. I called Counsellor and she said its because I was working too much and need to rest. Let me see whether this dizzy feeling fades away otherwise I might need to give up the diet. Though I feel sad about that, there a drop of excitement in my mind. I know ... I'm trying to be little naughty here...

Spoke to my counsellor about my holidays and looks like I might move from Sole sourcing which is just 537cal diet to 1000calories diet. Let me see how I get through.
This week I weighed and did not see any weight Loss I was really worried. But on the forums people say that even though I have not lost weight I would have lost inches. So let me try on all my old tight clothes to keep me going.

18th Day

I've started worrying about Christmas holidays. I am going to Dubai during the holidays and am wondering how I'm going to do the diet during holidays. Trying to find how I can manage to enjoy my holidays as well not get out of Ketosis. Planning to talk to my counsellor. Let me see what she comes up with.

I am not very sure about what is the best time to weigh. I have noticed that I have at least 4 to 5 lbs difference in weight depending on whether I weigh in in the morning or in the evening. I did my first weighing in the morning and trying to do it only in the mornings. But sometimes when I check it in the evening its 5lbs more which is scary. Need to find out about this.

17th Day

This week has been little different from the last week. Though, I don't have so much urge to eat I've been feeling kind of depressed during the day. I really do not know whether its the diet. I'm guessing its the diet because I'm usually not that kind of person. Even if I have any problems I'll be down only for a day or two and not more than that. But this week, I do not have any reason to be depressed or down but still am feeling so. I'm really conscious not to show that to my hubby and daughter but sometimes it comes out. I need to be more conscious about it.

I don't want my entire family to undergo change when I'm doing this diet. My hubby has been so helpful that he prepares tea for me whenever I'm tired and was even ready to buy food from outside if I was finding it hard to cook for him. I'm feeling guilty that he's been so helpful and am trying to be selfish. I need to work on this thing now...

16th Day

Very normal day... No temptation to eat. I actually started getting the satisfaction by just smelling the food now. :) That's what I did when I cooked dinner. I smelled the Chickpeas curry I made and it was amazing. Looks like I started liking cooking when I cannot eat. So I want to do something related to food always...Strange...hmmmm

In the evening I kind of was frustrated for everything. I don't know whether its related to the diet or work. But was getting irritated for everything. But thank God!! I kept it to myself and controlled it and not showed it to my hubby and daughter... Sooooo I can do this too. Good to know. I'm learning a lot in this weight journey

15th Day

Today was really boring at work and may be because of that I started thinking about food again. After the first week, today is when I started thinking about food again and was worried about doing this diet for more days.

I should say onething. This diet is definitely life changing and I would suggest anyone who's BMI is dangerous to get into this diet. You get two benefits out of this diet. One you loose your weight and become healthier. Two..It shows how strong you are in mind. It tests your will power. When I started this diet I was thinking that I was not going to do this diet even more than two days. But when I have done it for two weeks it gives confidence on me and my will power.

So if anyone is thinking of doing it please do it and you can definitely see your life changing.

14th Day

Yesterday was my official 2nd week on this diet. Hmmmm...I can't believe its alreayd two weeks. I am proud of myself now.

Yesterday was little strange because I was kind of feeling hungry. I had stopped feeling hungry a week ago. In the evening I checked my ketosis and it was okay. So i don't know what the reason was.

I had my crunch bar for my breakfast and I should say this 'WOW.........That was wonderful'. The problem was, I usually have bites of the bar during the whole of day time and because the crunch bar was really good I couldn't put it back and ate the whole bar in few mins. May be that's the reason I was hungry. I had soups for both afternoon and night. (Wanted a change). I did not like the vegetable soup and chickent & mushroom soup but I loved the Oriental chilli.

So I'm liking this CD where I have lots of options. My blog still reads Lipotrimmer though I'm currently a CDer(Cambridge dieter)... :) I cannot do anything now though

13th Day

Today is my second diet on CD. I'm really enjoying this diet now. Got used to the sachets and water intake.

Today I went to weigh myself with the pharmacist and only 12 lbs down. At home when I checked it was nearly 14 Lbs down two days earlier. I don't know why it varies. Because I was goin to get weighed I did not even drink water or eat anything and thought of doing it after the weighing. Actually it affected me so much that when I came back from the pharmacy, I had acute stomach pain and had to go to the toilet at least twice. When I read the CD book it clearly stated that I should have had lots of water with the bar which I didn't :( So lesson learnt now and won't ever do that mistake.

I'm kind of feeling down today because its sunday evening and tomorrow I need to go to west end of London whereas I stay in East end of London. I need to do this travel for another 3 months and takes an hour and half each way and this puts me down....

Feeling tired and off to bed now...

12th Day

I joined Cambridge diet today......woohooooooooo!!!!

I met my CDC (Cambridge Diet Councellor) today and got my sachets for next two weeks. Unfortunately scale in her place was not working and could not weigh in. At home it shows that I've lost 14lbs, but its hard to believe because my scale is not a digital one. I am going to order a digital scale online and keep track of my weight myself.

I Love CD food a lot. I had the milk choclate bar and it was wow.... tasty. I did not like the butter scotch shake which I had in the evening. For dinner I had spicy Tomato soup and it was yummy. One more good thing happened today. I tested whether I'm on ketosis today with the Ketostix. If anyone does not know what I'm talking about. Here's the explanation.

Ketosis is a condition in which the body will use the fat for energy and produces ketones as a by-product. This change in metabolism occurs when the body no longer has incoming carbs to produce glycogen and after the liver has been depleted of stored glycogen. Although ketosis has kicked in, this does not mean that body fat is being burnt it could be either body fat or dietary fat.

Ketostix Sticks.

These sticks can be used to find whether you are in Ketosis. This is based on the Ketones present in the urine.

Today when I did this test, I found that my ketostix was showing very light pink and I was worried that my ketosis is not strong enough. But now when I searced on some of the blogs and forums, I found that it depends on the hydration too. So if I'm drinking lots of water it means that my ketones are diluted and its very light pink in colour which is good :-)

I don't have any problems with drinking 4 ltrs of water because I usually drink that much water. I've seen many people struggling with this. One thing I do not understand is different VLCD programs ask the participants to drink different quantities of water. I do not understand the reason. Lipotrim insists on min 4 ltrs of water, CD on 4 Pints of water and LL (lighter life) on 6 ltrs.

Anybody knows why?

11th Day

Today was the best day on my diet. Never felt dizzy or hungry. May be because I had a training from morning till evening and it has distracted me and did not feel anything.

In the evening, had guests at home and cooked for all of them and did not get tempted. May be I've become a very good girl :) or my stomach is planning for something big during the weekend ;)

Let me see how I get through. Yea...Now I remember why today was good. Its because I weighed myself today and I had lost around a stone on the scale at home. But still I do not want to believe this. Because usually the scale at pharmacist and home have always been different. Even in the weight loss...

Tomorrow first thing in the morning I'm meeting my Cambridge Diet Councellor. I'm really happy that I'm switching over to CD. I'll have someone to talk to and can have lots of different flaors...hoooraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy
